Camera Shopping

Today, Jas and I went camera shopping because as you know, it was stolen the day before. We were suppose to head out to CityTv's Taste of the City but we missed it! Taste of the City was at Plaza of Nations yesterday and not today, today there was a Gay Pride Festival. Oops, we should have checked the website. Oh well, there is always next year! Kay didn't come with us because she made plans to go to Playland with her friends. I was the chauffeur, drop the girls off at Playland for the day and pick them up later in the evening. Jas lives really close to Chinatown and Plaza so we decided to walk over to Plaza of Nations but discover Taste of the City wasn't there and ended up at Yaletown. We walked around and window shopped for a bit before deciding on Cactus Club (yes again!) for lunch. It was nice sitting on the patio, a good day for it. After late lunch/early dinner, we headed towards downtown to Sony Store and London Drugs to check out the camera selection. Although I didn't find the Sony salesperson very helpful and he didn't seem too interested in me because a couple of guys (tourists) walked in looking for a camera, we decided to leave. But I have an idea of what I am looking for now. I decided I do not want to replace my stolen camera with a current version because there is not much of an upgrade and the new model does not have the manual focus feature. I am going to buy a model up. I am looking into purchasing this one. It's the "in between" model of a digital compact camera and a digital SLR camera. It's a little more than my budgeted price for a new camera but I decided that since I started blogging and keeping track of my disturbing addiction, I would enjoy using all the features this camera has to offer. Plus if I buy this camera, it's quite a bit bigger than my last so that means I need a new bag to carry this camera in. Now I can justify purchasing this bag to hold my camera plus it's a good size for travelling and it comes with a lock! What do you think?

Caribbean Festival

What a day we had today! This afternoon, Kay, Jas and I set out to the Caribbean Festival out in North Vancouver. I had taken some really great photos of today but some drug addict picked my pocket and stole my camera!! I kid you not. At Sears of all places. ARGH!! I am so MAD. Anyways, that's another part of today's story. The weather was perfect (not quite perfect but pretty darn close!), temperature was nice & warm, the clouds were out and this is the first time we've been to the Caribbean Festival were it wasn't crazy hot with temperatures of 30s and the sun beating down on us! We walked around, caught some music and headed for the food. That is def. the best part and the reason why we head out to the Caribbean Festival! V and M were suppose to meet us there but they got lost or took the wrong turn off the freeway (yeah right! V is really really bad with directions, seriously, this is the ONLY guy I know who drives like a girl! hehehe) He somehow ended up in Richmond instead of North Vancouver, they rang to let us know they were not going to make it. After the food, music and browsing the little tables, we were on our way out to take photos by the water when we bumped into D, V's sister. We chatted a bit and decided that we were going to head out. Taking some photos by the water (which by the way, turned out really great!) I bumped into a co-worker whom I have a "fake" friendship with. She's one of those types were she hates her job, been there forever, can't retire and likes to make people around her miserable when she is. She's hard to work with but you kind of get used to it. I have anyways. Now, I know when to stay away and when I can see her. We didn't chat long because we were heading out of North Vancouver, thank goodness! Catching the seabus back to downtown. We headed over to Sears because they were having scratch and save with a discount of 60% off luggage. I picked up a Roots luggage for $89.97 and a cute little classic black cocktail dress for $14.99! Yes seriously. $14.99. Reg. $99.99. They were clearing out their stock and marked everything off an extra 50% off. After purchasing my little black dress, we headed off the 4th floor down the escalators to Granville street when I noticed my bag felt lighter. I quickly checked for my camera and agenda. GONE. I thought maybe I had left it on the counter where I purchased my dress but no luck. It seems there has been quite a few pick pocketers in Sears. So PISSED. The camera is replaceable but there are about 23 photos in there, half of them being of Kay. I hate knowing the fact that some crazy @ss is out there with my daughter's photos!! F***! Being in a crappy and pissed off mood, I decided to take Jas to Holt Renfrew to look at these beautiful evening sandals, if they were still available. I didn't think they would be there as I had looked at them 3 weeks earlier and at the price I saw them at, I wanted them so badly but could not justify spending that much money on a pair of shoes (well yes I can but was feeling somewhat guilty if I bought them) even if they were on sale and discounted at a really really good price! They were still there and with an additional discount of 20%, I had to buy them! After all, I was just picked pocketed and new shoes can always make a girl feel better :) I am feeling better ...

After shopping, we were deciding on take out or to eat in and Kay decided on Cactus Club. Gosh, I am getting sick of Cactus Club. After dinner, we decided to rent a movie, my pick Matador. The movie was somewhat interesting and I like Greg Kinnear. Calling it an early night, Kay and I headed home.

Next up on the list, a new camera. I am going to LA in two weeks, I desperately need to pick up a camera.... ugh......

Earthquake in Taiwan

Quake shakes Taiwan, Japan
Associated Press
TAIPEI — A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Taiwan on Friday, rocking buildings in the capital but causing no damage or casualties, the Central Weather Bureau said. The quake's epicentre was located about 150 kilometres southeast of Taipei, the bureau said. Japan's Meteorological Agency said there was no threat of a tsunami. The quake was also felt in the Yonaguni islands in southwestern Japan, but there were no reports of damage or injuries there either, officials said. Taiwan's weather bureau warned against aftershocks, but said they were not expected to cause any damage because of the epicentre's distance from the island. Quakes frequently rattle Taiwan, but most are minor and cause little or no damage. However, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in central Taiwan in September, 1999, killed more than 2,300 people.

Ok now there is nothing to panic about.... just because I haven't seen an email from R in 3 days or the fact that he hasn't texted me to tell me he is fine, does not mean he is not fine.... This is pretty scary for me and Kay (although at this moment Kay has no clue about the earthquake and she probably won't know until I mention it or hearing it on the radio) because he is on the otherside of the world and we would have no idea if something has happened. And who the heck would contact us to let us know if something has happened??? NO ONE. His parents can't speak english, his brother has no info on us except for knowing we are here in Vancouver, ok, maybe his secretary, A, she might send me an email or call on me. But I am not counting on this one either. I am sure he is FINE. I will give him a wake up call when I get home from work, around 5.30ish (Taipei: Saturday 8.30am), I'm sure he will not be too pleased to get a wake up call so early on a weekend but that's what you get when you don't let us know YOU ARE FINE.

*Updated July 30, 2006 1.15am* R is fine, he called in to let us know he was ok and it wasn't as bad as I thought. He was also surprised to learn that the news stated the earthquake at 6.1 because he didn't think it was that bad. I guess he is used to having earthquakes.....

Blogger Problem

Why can I not POST photos on my blog?!?! I have not been able to post photos in two days!!What's up with that??!!?? The last time I posted a photo (or two) was here. H.E.L.P.

Updated July 28, 2006 6:46pm
I just downloaded firefox because I was searching on blogger help groups and a few users mentioned firefox is better than IE esp. when uploading photos. I downloaded it and FINALLY I was able to update my post with a photo of Fran & Kay. Awesome!!!

Kay's on The Beat!

Kay is so funny!! She just heard herself on the radio (94.5fm The Beat) and she just called me to tell me her story. Apparently, Panic at the Disco is here in town and they are signing autographs for their new albulm just released at HMV. Kay didn't catch the whole broadcast so she called into the beat to ask where and when PATD were going to be signing autographs. She called in during a song play and after the song; they ran their conversation on the air. Kay went ballistic, she found it quite funny and her voice didn't sound like her at all. She thinks they used a voice enhancer or something because she didn't recognize her own conversation. hahahaha what a funny girl.

Calling me at work, asking me if I was still downtown, uh yes? She wanted me to pick up PATD's new cd and get them to autograph it. I told her, I'll see how busy HMV is and if the line up is not too long, I'll do it for her. When I got there, OMG, it was CRAZY! I assume people have been lining up at HMV since this morning!! The band wasn't even there yet, apparently, they were going to be there within the hour. I rang Kay back up and told her I wasn't going to do it because even if I got in line, I could be there for HOURS. She was a little upset and I said I would pick up the cd if I could find it. Couldn't find it, too many people, too long of a line up.... oh well, she can always pick it up another day....

A visit with Fran

My dear friend Fran is back from Hong Kong! She moved to Hong Kong a year ago to work out there because she loves the city. She's doing really well and I'm so proud of her! She's in Vancouver for 10 days because there is a wedding she needs to attend and to visit family / friends. This girl always has such a busy schedule even when she was situated in Vancouver! With her busy schedule and all, I wasn't sure if I was going to see her this time (missed her the last time she was visiting) but she planned the day with our friend, Jas and they both came to pick me up from the office after shopping and errands. I left work a half an hour early which was ok because I didn't take a lunch. We headed over to Milestones for a bellini (bellini Tuesdays!) and appetizers, they were not hungry because they had lunch a couple of hours earlier. We sat around for an hour or so catching up on life. Fran had an airport story to tell and Fran being Fran, this was quite a funny, very interesting and so like Fran.

Her story: Fran checked into the airport 2 hours early which is really amazing because this girl is notorious for running late for everything. Her itinerary stated (or as she thought) her flight was schedule to leave at 4.55pm. Checking in at the counter (not at the airport, the express counter), the person helping her asked, oh? have you changed your flight? Fran looking confused and shocked, no, I'm early! Lady at the counter also confused look on her face, well your plane left 10 minutes ago. Fran now really stumped, whathaheck? Girlfriend read the itinerary wrong! Flight scheduled for 14.55 not 4.55!! Panicking a little (she's got to be here for a wedding), the lady helped her out by getting her on a standby for the next flight out which was leaving in an hour or so. But if she could not get on this flight, she wasn't going to get on any flight this week (all flights are booked full). Panicking and now rushing to the airport which is half an hour away from where she was, she lucked out and managed to get a seat on that flight! Phew! Funny Fran story, eh?

I have done this before, read the itinerary incorrectly, I almost missed my flight out of Vancouver to Hong Kong a few years back.

After Milestones, we headed back to my place to pick up my car and to bring dinner home to Kay and Ty (Ty came over to play again). Kay and Fran hugged, caught up a little bit, and took a photo. We left for Burnaby to have dinner at Kura Sushi (because it's so yummy! and Fran has a list of items she must eat while in Vancouver, Japanese being one) and to meet another friend of Fran's (she's trying to squeeze everyone in) Alan. We had a splendid dinner (Kura never ceases to disappoint me with their daily specials!) and shared more funny stories about Fran. Alan, Fran and Jas all met at UBC and boy did Alan have some funny and good stories about Fran. After dinner, Jas and I headed back into Vancouver and Fran took off to meet the next person.

It was a really good night and it reminded me of how much I miss hanging out with Fran. Good times. Hoping to catching her again before she leaves but if not, I'll def. see her the next time. We have been friends since highschool, a loooooong time, she is a really great friend and it is never boring with Fran around, all those hilarious stories to tell.......

A Very Hot Day....

We did not end up berry picking, it was much too hot for that so we decided to stay cool at Richmond Centre because they have air conditioning and summer sales! ;-) Kay and I had a late start today as it was pretty darn hot last night and it was hard to fall asleep. Kay and I left around 1ish and we headed over to Michael's to pick up some craft supplies. After some dessert (stopped by the Tim Horton's), Kay and I headed over to Richmond Centre . We picked up a few things for Kay as she is continuously growing although I have told her to stop, it's not working. We picked up a couple of new capri pants and tops for the last bit of summer. I told her we would only buy a few items because September is around the corner for school shopping. She spotted a cute top for me and at that price, I couldn't turn it down. After shopping, Kay and I hung out at home. We decided to go Thai Away for dinner because it was too hot to cook and she felt like spring rolls. After dinner, we stopped by Blenz for a dessert coffee (myself) and then headed over to Capers for a little bit of browsing, Kay hasn't been there since the opening. Nice and quiet. Now, I wish it would cool down so we can sleep tonight but it doesn't feel like it's going to happen......

Spending the Day with Mom

Today, I spent the afternoon with my mom and Kay. We did our usual weekly grocery shopping and picking up stuff that my mom and grandma needed. My mom came out a little earlier to meet me today because I needed her assistance in opening a savings account at HSBC. The people who work at this bank have terrible mannerism and I find it quite difficult to speak to them because it seems none of them can speak english without an accent. After speaking to one of the customer service reps, I realized I could not do it today. She stated as a courtesy, they need to contact my financial advisor at my Kingsway branch and speak to her about my transfering funds into a savings account with this branch. Goddangit, HSBC is such a pain in the @ss. I hate this bank. I never want to deal with them but they are holding my inheritance from my grandma and my father insists we deal with HSBC because he and the financial advisor have been working together for many years. Long story, short.... I have to wait a little while before hearing anything back from the Cambie branch. I think this is a pain in the ass and it is MY MONEY, I should transfer all my funds out of that bank but my father would probably have a fit. After the bank, we headed out for lunch and to Chinatown for some shopping. We didn't stay too long as it was way too hot! My mom picked up a couple of bamboo mats for her bed. She said it would help cool her down while sleeping in this heat. I was thinking, at the time, about purchasing one but I am not sure if I can sleep on it. I was hoping that it wouldn't be too hot tonight (but I was wrong). After Chinatown, mom headed home while Kay and I headed back to our place because Kay had some unfinished chores like a couple of loads of laundry. We hung out at home for a while, I did some crafting and lounging on the couch. After laundry, we headed over to mom's for dinner, mom took us to a new chinese restaurant she discovered a few days ago. I found that the food was ok, typical HK food, and the prices were pretty reasonable. The bill came up to $60.00 for 4 adults and a child which is not bad at all. After dinner, Kay and I headed over to Max's for PIE, she loves PIE. Still very warm and even now, I have no idea how we are going to sleep..... maybe we should have picked up a couple of bamboo mats for ourselves....

Tomorrow we are suppose to go berry picking out in Langley but with the temperatures as high as 35, I don't want to get sunstroke so we might have to go another weekend.....

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Tonight, I went with Jas to watch this movie and I was very excited and eagar to catch this one. I really enjoyed the first one and I heard there were pretty good reviews on this one. IMO, I thought this was good but not great. Got my money's worth though, it was a 2 1/2 hour movie. There were a few slow parts and the story did not flow smoothly. It really just seemed that Disney used Part II to set up their next one, the upcoming Pirates 3... 2 stars out of 4.

Awww...

Look what I came home to..... my baby girl is such a sweetie......

Going To LA!!

I am going to LA!!! I really am looking forward to this mini vacation, I haven't been on vacation in a loooooong time. Jas and I got roundtrip tickets to LA at a really great price and we could not turn it down...... now I just need a suitcase...

Gone Campin'

Kay has officially gone outdoor camping for three days! Wow, I hope she makes it! She's a little bit skeptical about this trip because she is a city girl and the last time she went camping, she was in a cabin with running water. This time, she's going to be using outhouses and sleeping on the ground in a tent! Only for two nights and I think she will be fine.... silly girl! Can't wait to hear all about it, I have her itinerary and it looks like a lot of fun! I wanted to trade spaces but she didn't agree....

Going to catch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest tonight... yes, without her, she will be pissed but I told her she can catch it with R the next time he is back in Vancouver which is .... September!

Dinner with Grams...

Tonight, I went over to Mom's for dinner and to help KD with her unpacking. Although, KD did not have a lot of stuff, we had to figure out how to place the furniture and I helped her move her stuff around. She hasn't stayed one night at my Mom's basement as yet but I think she will starting this weekend. Apparently, she has a load of laundry to do! Esp. the sheets!
Kay and her friend, Ty were hanging out together today so she decided they would have dinner at home. I swear, my daughter has more of a social life than I do! It's crazy how many things she's got going on! This week, she is heading out on a camping trip with the community centre in our neighborhood. She'll be gone for three days! Yippee! Hehehe.. kidding, I will miss her and I hate cooking for one..... maybe I will go to Mom's for dinner :)

Moving ....

OMG, I am sooooo tired. Today, I offered my assistance with KD's moving day. We had planned to move her stuff out of her 1 bedroom (really not that much stuff because she sublets a bedroom which means minimal furniture) at around 11 or 12 in the afternoon. But she could not get a cargo van until almost 4.30 (out in Surrey). She also did not pack her stuff (locked out of her place for three nights) which meant we were packing and moving the stuff into the van at the same time. She really did not have that much stuff but because her bed took up most of the space in the van, we made two trips to and from her place out in Burnaby (close to Coquitlam) and back to East Van. I figured we would be done in a few hours but because of the delays, I didn't end up doing anything but helping her move.

Kay went to a BBQ at her friends place and she called me around 10:00 to see if I had forgotten about her. She was only suppose to be there until around 8 and expected me to pick her up by then. She wasn't too pleased that I did not come for her until almost 10.30pm! She wasn't so upset with me not picking her up as I thought, apparently someone broke her fave. sunglasses and she lost her lipgloss and that is why she was upset and wanted to come home.... what a day....

Happy Birthday Daddy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Tonight, we celebrated my father's 68th birthday! He doesn't look a day over 50 ;-) We took him to DemBones because that is one of his fave. restaurants (meat lover) and that is where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner. My brother picked up the tab this time and gosh, I felt bad because I order a glass of red wine at the cost of $6.00!! We try to take turns taking daddy out and I paid for Father's Day dinner which was about the same amount. This is the THIRD time I have been to DemBones in the past three months!! I usually try to space this restaurant out by going once every six months because it's a lot of meat! But we had a great time and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Look who came for a visit!

I can't believe how much she has grown! She is full of smiles, focusing on your voice and making all sorts of sounds. On this visit, we managed to get a nice photo together :), the last time, she was pretty tired and crying loudly in the photo and that is why I didn't post that photo.
I really miss having Erin around the corner but she promises to visit more often!

Katy at 10 weeks old and look at her, she had a growth spurt of 6 inches! Wow, she's going to be a tall baby just like momma and daddy....

Who's a cutie pie? She is :)

Devil Wears Prada

I just finished watching this movie and it was really really good, I love Meryl Streep, she's an awesome actress and played the devil boss really well :) Although the story has changed a little and they missed out on a lot of funny bits, it was still really good but READ the novel even if you have watched the movie. The novel is much better and wittier!
PS. Lots of beautiful clothes, handbags, shoes, and accessories....

Cherries!

Mom got cherries!!

She gets a whole crate (about 20 lbs) for $59.00 which seems a little expensive but in the supermarkets, they are charging about $6.99 - $7.99 / lb. Also, these cherries are plump, roundy and super juicy. Haven't had a bad one yet! Ron, who used to work with my mom, has a fruit orchard up in the Okanagan and every year, he sells my mom cases of cherries (she distributes them to her friends) and at the end of the season, sometimes he brings my mom peaches for jam. The cherries and peaches are incredible. I finally met this man who supplies my mom every year with cherries and I asked him how much is a crate of peaches and he told me $25.00!! Wow, for a whole crate, that is an awesome price, I would buy a crate if I knew how to make peach pie........(peaches can't be frozen, they don't freeze well but peach pies freezes pretty good!) or peach preserves.... last year, mom made some peach jam and it is delicious! I can't wait to have some cherries......

photos to come (maybe)....

Long Day....

What a day I had, a very long day.......

Last night, I didn't go to bed until almost 2am and I had to wake up early to start my day, no sleeping in! I needed to get up early because I wanted to take a shower before heading out to Coquitlam to pick up Jas so we could shop at the huge IKEA store. Don't worry, I only spent $30.00 and that included lunch! In the last two trips I have been able to walk out of the store without spending over $40.00 so it is POSSIBLE. I picked up a couple of discontinued door boards (for kitchen cupboards) because I am doing an art project, making a necklace holder for my growing collection and terry cloth slippers (for my at home foot spas). After shopping at IKEA, we headed towards Carmen's place to pick up the girls, we had arranged plans to take them to the mall and to build a bear at the Build A Bear Workshop because Winnie The Pooh is here!! We let the girls head off on their own for a bit while Jas and I did a little shopping for ourselves. I ended up buying these, they are so cute! Not too bad in price and will be nice to at least match my work clothes as I walk about 10 blocks to the bus stop and in no way can I do it in 3.5" heels. At Jacob, I picked up this, on sale (for more details, click here). We decided to stop off at Starbucks to grab a coffee (by this time, I was having a migraine) and to sit outside in the sunshine. KD and her friend were also in the mall so she stopped by for a bit of chit chat. They didn't stay long and Jas and I only sat for another 20 minutes or so before heading off to BABW to meet the girls. I had the girls build me a Pooh bear because I am much too old to be doing it. After BABW, we headed over to The Boss for dinner and to meet up with Vince. We were suppose to go out for drinks to celebrate Jas's new start and Vince's belated birthday but Vince had gone out clubbing the night before and was still suffering the after effects of the alcohol so after dinner, I drove the girls back to C's place and met them for bubble tea. We probably sat around for a good two hours, talking and catching up before calling it a night.

Sheesh, I am too old to live off 6 hours sleep, I need at least EIGHT HOURS or else I cannot make it through the day..... glad the day is over and I'm off to bed.....

Dinner with Shel & Kitty

Tonight, I went out for dinner with a couple of good friends of mine whom I haven't seen in ages. I wanted to congratulate them on their engagement and to catch up on each other's lives. It has been much to long since the last time I have seen them and on the last time, I found out they were engaged and had not set their wedding date. Well, they have finally decided, it will be 070707 which is so like Shel :) In exactly ONE YEAR, they will be MARRIED!! WOW! They year is going to go by so fast!

We headed over to Richmond to have dinner at this Japanese tapas place and gosh was it ever yummy! They had Japanese Pizza which at first I wasn't too keen on but after having a slice, OMG, I am so addicted. We had a chopped scallop pizza, it was so delicious. I will have to take R there for dinner, I think he will love it! I didn't think we would be full because all the items that came to our table seemed quite small. After having several small plates of grilled items, baked items, sushi items and the pizza, it was more than enough! After dinner, we headed over to Osaka Supermarket which is really the T&T Supermarket at Yoahan Centre to pick up some fruit (for myself) and some marinated meat (for Shel, BBQ the next night for a guy's Fight Night). We called it an early night and Shel dropped me off at home.

Kitty loved my new Louis Vuitton and keychain. Both think R has great taste which he does and he knows me so well, hey, it's been 13 years, he better know me!!! ;-)

Kitty and Shel are planning a cruise to Hawaii in November, how nice is that! Maybe Hong Kong at December (these two travel almost every year) but after those two trips, they plan on saving up for their wedding. In the fall, they are planning a mini roadtrip to Portland, Oregon to pick up their wedding bands from Tiffany's. They found the perfect wedding bands and the idea came from a friend of theirs who purchased their wedding bands from Cartier. They decided to buy the bands from Portland because there is no tax and the US exchange rate is pretty good at the moment. As they were talking about their wedding plans and buying their wedding bands, I decided to check online to see what Tiffany carries in wedding bands and I found mine.

KD will be coming by after 10pm and I think it will be a long night. After KD, R will be calling for our weekly "phone date"..... and I have to wake up early on Saturday, I better get some coffee or something......
.

Lunch with QA/QC Guy

I just got back from lunch with a couple of co-workers, one being the QA/QC guy (or CR) and Val, a really sweet person whom I work with. We headed over to The Keg for lunch which is nice because I hardly ever go to The Keg for lunch although it would have been nice to be sitting outdoors except for the fact that I am still not too comfortable being outside during lunch (incident on the patio last time). We discussed a few things concerning R's new business plans, he is planning to open a small division of his company into the North American market, and CR gave me a lot of useful information. I def. have a good head start to the direction we need to proceed for R's new business plans. I also have a lot of work ahead of me in gathering information from all the places that I need to go but it will be quite exciting. From CR's information on QA (Quality Assurance), QC (Quality Control), auditing and expediting has peaked my interest. I think I might find it interesting enough to look into a career for myself. I would have to attend some courses to lear about ISO and CSA. Apparently, there are some seminars I could attend and even classes or courses where if I passed with flying colours, I could receive a certificate. I think that is an interesting idea..... what are your thoughts???

Crisis...

I am pulling a late nighter because a good friend of mine is having a major crisis at the moment. She has a lot of drama in her life and her home situation is not exactly the healthiest environment for her plus she has this guy who does not know what he really wants. Tonight, I met up with her for dinner but some things came up which meant we didn't actually eat dinner until after 9.30pm (thankfully I had a snack before going over there). After dinner, we sat in her car and talked about what was going on in her life, the craziness and I think she just needed to let it all out. I gave her my own opinions and advice and how to deal with the home situation. Life is pretty crazy and hectic with her but I know she can handle herself. But as a mom, I become very concerned and worried about her situations so I feel the need to help. I am going to help her find a new place to live and hopefully, she will listen to some of my advice on the "guy" situation. You can't tell people what to do, they need to make the decisions on their own. Even if you know it's not a good place to be.... well I am hoping for the best and I will be by her side, no matter what she decides to do and I will try to be as supportive about it as I can...... it's not going to be easy.... .

Grouse Grind

I beat my TIME! OH YEAH!! I did the Grouse Grind in one hour and twenty minutes, ten minutes off last week! Yeah!!!!

I hate the grind with a passion but that is what keeps me coming back. My friend lost 6 pounds since starting the Grind three weeks ago. Wow eh? That is crazy! I am off again on Monday and Thursday ;)

Bumming Around, Nightmarket

This afternoon, Kay and I headed downtown to exchange a skirt that I bought from Mexx yesterday. The size was just a little bit too large and downtown Mexx had my size. I really didn't want to go downtown but I figured I better or I might not get to exchange it on Tuesday. When we reached downtown, omg, it was so packed. Lost of tourist and shoppers walking Robson Street. Kay and I quickly headed over to Mexx and when I did our exchange, we took another route to our bus stop, went down Georgia Street instead. We stopped by the Coach store and they were having some really great sales, a signature wool hat for $20 (reg. $160.00) but I didn't buy it because I really didn't like the shape of the hat (it's too round) and I know it's a good deal but I had just spend gosh knows how much yesterday! So, we had to pass it up.... oh well.... I'm not a huge Coach fan anyways. After downtown, Kay and I headed home, stopping for cotton candy and then we decided to just hang out at home for a bit, it was crazy hot that afternoon. I re-potted by Orchid which I have been meaning to do for weeks. After a couple of hours, Kay and I walked down to Safeway to pick up some stuff for the week. For dinner, I made Kay tossed salad with pork chops. I had plans to head out for dinner with my friend, K. Around 7.30pm, K called and we headed over to Richmond for dinner. We met up with her friend, B and we all headed over to the Richmond Night Market afterwards. They had some items they wanted to pick up. I picked up some cute necklaces, yes I am becoming quite additcted to necklaces and picked up a cute t-shirt for R. After walking around for an hour or so, we decided to call it a night because those two had to work in the morning. Not I, I have a stat day! Woohoo!! For some strange reason, Blogger will not allow me to post any more photos! I have no idea what the hell is going on.... so for now, I can only show you these two necklaces I picked up for myself. Maybe I can post the photos tomorrow......

Happy Canada Day!

What a day we had today! IKEA, Richmond Centre and a Movie.

We had beautiful weather again, like every day for the last two weeks. The sun was out and the temperatures at 30 degrees C! A perfect day to be INDOORS and most of it was spent indoors with air condition. First off, IKEA to pick up some needed home items that have been on my list for sometime. I picked up some hooks (on sale!) for my necklaces, a pretty blue bathmat, a magnetic board for the hall and extension cords for the bedroom. Afters browsing through IKEA, we decided to head over to Richmond Centre Mall because we still had some time before the movie. Richmond Centre was having their sidewalk sale! Darn! I can't pass up a good sale when I see one! Picked up some cute flip flops for Kay, I picked up some sale items and non sale items. After walking through Richmond Centre, we decided it was getting too late to head home for dinner so I took Jas and Kay out for Cactus Club. The Cactus Club in Richmond is disgusting. First off, they have no idea how to make a salad!! After dinner, we hurried home, dropped off our stuff and took the transit downtown to catch A Devil Wears Prada but it was sold out so we ended up in Click which was very funny and cute. Now Kay and I are ready to crash, we have had a long day.....

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Ok I am not one to promote street racing or crappy movies with no storyline but this movie has some sweet cars and the scenes of the city, amazing. I really want to go to Tokyo. Back to the cars, one of them being a VeliSide RX7 (at one time, I owned an older RX7 & I love these cars) so when I caught a glimpse of this modified RX7, I thought sweeet! It can't be real but yeah it is! This special show car won Best Show of 2005 in Tokyo and worth $150,000!! The custom interior alone cost $20,000. Universal Studios bought the car for $50,000 and of course that is pocket change for them which meant why not destroy the interior of the car with SPRAY PAINT!! OMG what a waste .... but the car still looks pretty sweet.....

Anyways, if you find this as interesting as I thought, you should go out and rent the movie. Do not pay good money to watch it in the theatre because I don't think it's worth it. But I would def. rent the dvd to look at all the cars and see a mini tour guide of the city. Drifting sounds somewhat interesting too. The movie is beautifully shot around the city and the cars.....

PS. The acting is not so great......
